Advocacy
MOAA is the outdoor advertising legislative advocate dedicated to informing members of all Missouri legislative activities impacting the industry. MOAA employs a lobbyist who maintains relationships with elected officials and who tracks and lobbies legislation. During the legislative session, members receive a weekly report of activities in the legislature that are of interest.
OAAA Membership
MOAA is a Member of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America and, as such, receives important updates, news articles, and seminar opportunities.
Legal Services
MOAA contractually employs legal counsel to provide advice and necessary litigation services as approved by the Board.
Research, News and Industry Information
MOAA assists members in keeping abreast of trends, changing technology and news articles. MOAA will periodically survey members in order to portray the importance of the outdoor industry both as businesses and as community partners.
Scenic Byways Advisory Committee
Section 236.18.7 of the MoDOT Engineering Policy Guide prescribes that a representative of the Missouri Outdoor Advertising Association shall be a permanent member of the Scenic Byways Advisory Committee. The Executive Director of MOAA has represented the industry on that Committee since its inception. The Committee, in conjunction with MoDOT, makes recommendations regarding the designation of scenic byway roads and highways in Missouri.
Public Service Billboards
MOAA is available to assist and promote public service campaigns for not-for-profit organizations and governmental agencies which are designed to improve quality of life, enhance health and well-being, strengthen families and for other good causes. Members of MOAA donate thousands of dollars to help promote public service campaigns.
MoDOT Regulation
Over the years, MOAA has developed a very good working relationship with the Outdoor Advertising department of the Missouri Department of Transportation. MOAA members enjoy access to the regulators through the Association and are regularly briefed by MoDOT staff.
